Kananaskis Country

This is made up of multiple parks and recreational areas which accounts for 4,200 sq-km.  The chain of parks and reserves in the area include Peter Logheed Provincial Park, Spray Valley Provincial Park & Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park.  These parks were established back in 1977 with a mandate to alleviate congestion in the National Parks.  And that they did as this is a great go between of Jasper's Solitude and Banff's congestion, as it's made up of a great mix of back country and day hiking trails.
